On Friday October 30, Martin successfully defended his PhD thesis entiteled “Preclinical Evaluation of Antimicrobal Compounds - An investigation of natural products, natural products derivatives and synthetic compounds”. So he is no longer a PhD candidate, but a proper PhD!
Thanks to the opponents Professor Håvard Jenssen, Roskilde University, Denmark (1. opponent) and Assistent Professor Diogo Neves Proença, University of Algarve, Portugal (2. opponent) for interesting discussions over very interesting themes (including the noble art of calculating IC50-values)! Thanks also to Associate Professor Theresa Wagner, NFH (internal member) for leading the committee.
It was a nice day for the entire Marbio research group, and we were so happy than Martin’s family was able to be there on the big day.
Congratulations Martin, fantastic job!
